Birch Series

The birch series has its seed in the beauty of the white trunks of these trees. Northern Europe is in many parts covered with birch forests. The poetics of this special white rhythm of lines and their diversity was a formal inspiration. The variable atmospheres of light entering a birch forest show manyfold color variations among the interspace of the white trunks. The series is worked with mixed technique of acrylic, coal and oil pastels on paper.
